CHS Class of 1980 Celebrates 5 Year Class Reunion!

(Editor’s note – these tales are drawn from vague recollections of what happened long before this website came into existence, so if you can fill in holes or provide (more) accurate info…. please do!)

Weren’t we just in high school like 5 years ago?  What are we doing having a reunion?!  Yeah, whatever…  Not much has changed after just five years, most everyone is at least recognizable with a few exceptions.  Many are parents already, even more have graduated from their respective colleges and universities and are now starting a new career.

This writer has absolutely no recollection as to whether there was an informal “social hour” the Friday of the reunion weekend.  But what I can recall was that the night of the dinner, at approximately 5pm, there was a HUGE explosion at Hawkeye Chemical in Camanche!  It nearly leveled the facility, but (fortunately) had no impact on our dinner which was held at Valley Oaks. (Remember, there used to be a restaurant there… before it burned down.  NOTE: WE had nothing to do with the fire, it happened years after the reunion!)

We can also report with near certainty, that this reunion prolly had the highest attendance.  Aside from that, ummm, well… I just don’t know what to say.  Anyone want to provide some “meat” to go along with these “taters”?

Seriously… if anyone has some old Kodak `snaps (remember FILM cameras!) please scan them &/or photocopy something… hell, ANYTHING, and send it in so that we can introduce it into these “archives”
